Agave Walls

We did it! We painted the living room!  It was a tough choice, but we decided on the paint color Agave.  Thanks to some experienced painters (Thank you Janice and Rachel!) we were able to paint the main wall in our living room and into the kitchen in just a few hours.  It looks so nice, I just wish that we had been able to decide on a color sooner.

The joy of painting means only getting a little paint on your body and somehow covering all your fingernails.  Why does this always happen??

Now I'm obsessing with getting all the finishing touches for the living room finished.  We're working on:

1. Photo gallery wall
2. Valances for the windows
3. Refinishing the mantle
4. New fireplace doors
5. New rug

Maybe once this is all done we'll have a housewarming party.  Or maybe just a party since I guess we can't really call it a housewarming after we've lived here for a year.

Stay tuned for more photos of how the room is coming along.

Beach Day

We spent a day at the beach with the Ellis, Varga and Wade families at the end of August. Even though the weather wasn't very nice, we still played in the sand, the boys in the water and had a nice dinner all together. It was Jocelyn's first time to the beach.  She liked the sand but did not like the water.

To add to the excitement, Adam got stung by a sting ray.  It hurt.  All the guys offered to pee on it.  What good friends.  And the worst part was, a week later his foot puffed up and he had to take antibiotics for a week!

Problems Picking Paint

We have finally decided that after a year of living in our house, it's time to decorate.  Starting with picking paint for the main wall in our living room.   We've been thinking about painting since we moved in but we couldn't agree on a color.  Lindsay wanted light yellow and Adam wanted brick red.  So...we decided to do nothing.

But it's been decided that next weekend is painting weekend so we have to decide.  We've spent weeks looking at paint chips and tried four different colors on the wall.  The grey is out and the other color was not even worth showing.

We're leaning towards the darkest color....what do you think??

Padres Win! At least this one...

The Petersen Family (and Lindsay by marriage) are big Padres fans.  We went to a game to celebrate Adam's mom's birthday (just a few months late).  It was a nice warm evening, our seats were great, we ate ice cream out of little hats and watched the Pads win.

3 Year Wedding Anniversary!

Three years sure flew by!  We just went out for a nice dinner date to celebrate.  We've known each other for 10 years, been married for 3 and we still like each other.

I in fact, had withdrawals going back to work after spending 3 straight weeks with Adam at all time on our vacation.
